When your opponents have the ball, you can use the right analog stick to perform sliding tackles and, if you push it in the right direction at the right time, to counter their beat moves. FIFA Street 2 doesn't place that much emphasis on any single move, but it is possible to win a match at any time using the new and improved gamebreaker system. The nutmeg is known by many different names around the world, and like many organized street-soccer contests (and the whole of Holland), FIFA Street 2 often refers to the move as a panna-a Surinamese word that literally means "to destroy." In the aforementioned "Panna KO" contests, putting the ball through an opponent's legs is enough to win a match, regardless of how many goals have been scored. Pushing the right stick up, for example, might flick the ball over an opponent's head, while pushing the stick down will often result in a nutmeg-the most humiliating of all beat moves, which involves putting the ball through an opponent's legs. When you have the ball in your possession, flicking the right stick in any direction will cause you to perform a trick in that direction and, when applicable, to try to get past an opponent while doing so. One of the reasons why FIFA Street 2's controls are so intuitive is that the right analog stick is used so well. The Xbox controller is a jack-of-all-trades where FIFA Street 2 is concerned, but worthy of a mention is the fact that EA Sports Big resisted the temptation to employ the badly positioned black and white buttons. The PlayStation 2 controller's large number of well-placed buttons is the most naturally suited to FIFA Street 2's large number of moves, but we found that the GameCube's right analog (or "C") stick made performing high-scoring tricks while juggling the ball slightly easier than on other platforms. The controls for all of these moves are surprisingly uncomplicated on all three console platforms, and the fact that no console's controller noticeably outperforms another's is definitely noteworthy. You'll beat your opponents not only by scoring goals, but also by humiliating them with beat tricks, ball juggling, and taunts at every opportunity. Like the first game, FIFA Street 2 sees you taking control of a four-man soccer team and competing against similar teams composed of both fictional street players and recognizable stars of traditional soccer from all over the world. FIFA Street 2 is far from perfect, but it improves upon its predecessor quite significantly and can be enjoyed solo or with up to three friends.įIFA Street 2's controls are equally good on all platforms. Now, one year later, EA Sports Big has done just that. Nevertheless, when we reviewed FIFA Street we alluded to the fact that we'd very much like to see its problems addressed in a sequel at some point. When FIFA Street was released in February of 2005, the game boasted far more style than it did substance, offering a gameplay experience that was as flawed as it was flashy.

File names and comments are stored in UTF-8 format.Īnd don't forget about console version which is the bright example of "how the console archiver should be implemented".Īlso, not so obvious but very handy function of console RAR is the possibility to act as per-file-deduplicator with "Save identical files as references" option. Possibility to store second and following copies of identical files as references to first copy of such file.Support for NTFS reparse points, symbolic links, hard links. Its speed benefit is more noticeable on large files with poorly compressible data or with BLAKE2 checksums. Multithreading support in decompression algorithm.Optional quick open information can be added to archive to provide a faster access to archive contents. So BLAKE2 can be used for file identification purpose. Unlike CRC32 checksum, it is practically impossible for BLAKE2 to have two different files with the same checksum value. Optional BLAKE2sp checksums for file data. File times stored as Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) instead of RAR 4.x local time, making file exchange among several time zones more straightforward.Maximum number of RAR+REV volumes in RAR 5.0 is 65535 instead of 255. Recovery record using Reed-Solomon error correction codes with much higher resistance to multiple damages comparing to RAR 4.x recovery record.Encryption based on AES-256 algorithm, which is theoretically stronger than RAR 4.x AES-128.When compressing big files, especially in solid mode, larger dictionary frequently allows to achieve a higher compression ratio. Compression dictionary size up to 1 GB. I helped her with her Pascal project… and no, I didn’t have a crush on her. I had this classmate who was not good at programming. In our first semester, we had basic programming subject with Pascal. I took my engineering math class five times. So, I had to take the same subject over and over. Many of these lecturers failed me for not attending the classes. That’s why it took me two extra years to graduate. Hamedani, you should attend the classes!” Guess what? I refused to attend so, they failed me. But there were a few bastards who wanted to feel the power and be in control. Those who were open-minded and supportive, allowed me to do so. I used to attend the first class, charm my instructors and ask them if I could just come back at the end and take the test. We had to pass a lot of mathematics, physics, electronics and religious studies. Why? More than half of our curriculum where topics that had absolutely zero connection to programming. Everything below 10 is considered a fail. In Iran, our scoring system ranges from 0 to 20 with 10 being the middle point. I followed my passion, my dream, and that was programming and it is still something that I love to do. I was asked this question a hundred times and every time I said: Azad University, Roodehen Branch. In Iran, it’s very common for 20-year-old kids to ask each other: “So, what university do you study at?” They really cared less where you studied they only asked so they could brag about where they studied. My so-called “best friend” used to make fun of me for studying at that university. To add insult to injury, this was a school that a lot of people used to ridicule. I was sent to study at Azad University, Roodehen Branch, which is in a small town one hour outside of Tehran. With that ranking, I couldn’t study software engineering in Tehran. You may think ranking 10,0000 amongst 1.5M students is pretty good. A year later I took the test and my ranking was 10,000. I had to study all those high school materials again in preparation for the next test. So, I had to wait until the following year to take the test again. I hated mathematics with a passion, and I still do. I wanted to become a programmer, not a mathematician. My passion was to study software engineering. I was rejected into software engineering the first year I took the test, but I was accepted to study applied mathematics in a small town. The lower your ranking, the further away from Tehran you could study, which meant paying for an education in a small town or rural area. Rather, you had to pay for your education. With a lower ranking, you couldn’t study at a government-sponsored university. In order for you to study at a good university, you had to be one of the first 1,000 students. I tried in 2000, at a time when 1.5 million students took the test, and there were only placing 150,000 spots in universities. However, in Iran, the educational system is rigged there’s a prohibative test conducted only once a year. My dream led me to study software engineering. See what a perfectionist I was as a 10-year-old? I wanted to learn to program so I could build games for myself exactly the way I wanted. Those games inspired me to become a software engineer. Here’s my story…Īs a child, I used to play a lot of video games. Have you been given these reasons why you can’t become a developer or a successful developer? Right now, I want you to put all these stupid reasons into a trash can and delete them from your memory.
